Introduction of the Bilingual Festival
In 2012, Taipei European School hosted the first Asia-Pacific Chinese-English Bilingual Debate Competition. Since then, the event has grown in scale and recognition, and has developed into the Asia-Pacific Chinese-English Bilingual Festival. The festival now offers a more extensive range of competitive events, such as bilingual storytelling, bilingual poetry recital, bilingual speech and bilingual debate.
As a large-scale bilingual competition in the Asia-Pacific region, the festival aims to promote Chinese-English bilingual education, encourage students to use Chinese and English fluently and provide a platform where students can demonstrate their bilingual proficiency. It is indeed a distinguished bilingual event that provides a great opportunity for friendly exchange.
Schools from various parts of the region have shown their enthusiastic support to and active participation in the Asia-Pacific Chinese-English Bilingual Festival. Since 2012, the festival has been hosted by Wuxi United International School, East China Normal University, Elite Education Group and Shanghai United International School. In 2018, The Independent Schools Foundation Academy in Hong Kong will play host to the event.
Vision of the Bilingual Festival: Demonstrate individual’s talents and facilitate interschool communication.
